“爱”是人类从古至今都离不开的“养分”，到底什么是真爱，如何爱才不会受伤? 面对爱情，你是选择一个爱你的人，还是一个你爱的人?
基督徒艺人寇乃馨在北京卫视的《我是演说家》节目上借着自身经历畅谈“爱的真谛”。
她坦言自己从小生活在爱的环境中，就如一位公主，所以谈恋爱时希望男朋友把她当成公主一样对待，这也是在座大部分观众举手赞同的。
在大学时，她一口气交了四个男朋友，风格各异，但相同的是都很爱她。四个男友中，一号是星星王子，能一口气折3650个彩色星星; 二号男友是博学才子，天文地理都可以谈; 三号男友是长腿叔叔，腿勤快，对寇乃馨的照顾无微不至;四号男友是悲剧情圣，当两个人吵架时，他会在雨中喊着寇乃馨的名字奔跑。
除了上面这四位，之后，她又遇到了第五位“天王”，综合了上面四位男友的所有优点，堪称“完美男人”，于是，二人举办了豪华的订婚仪式。但当她觉得自己就要成为最幸福的公主，嫁给最爱自己的王子时，发现结婚前，新郎跑了，并把订婚戒指邮寄给她，并附着一封长信，那时她真的满心不解，“为什么会这样，他不是很爱我吗.”
当她打开长信看完之后才明白男友逃婚缘由。信中说道，“寇乃馨，你根本不了解我，你根本不爱我，我吃什么菜你不了解，我爱看什么电影你也不知道，你只爱我对你的好”
遭遇如此巨大的打击，寇乃馨每天以泪洗面。当她反复看这封信时，开始反思，我的爱情怎么会这么自私呢? 这个世界上，没有一个人想做那个付出更多、爱更多的人。当他得不到回报时，心会凉的，人是会走的。她明白，虽然选了一个很爱自己的人，却没有得到预期的幸福，于是痛定思痛，她决定学习好好爱一个人。
后来，她真的深深爱上了一个愿意掏心掏肺义无返顾去爱的男人，甘愿为他付出所有，虽然爱得很累，但真的好快乐。当她真正爱过之后才明白，“爱是付出不是掠夺，爱是分享而不是占有。”
然而，人都是软弱的罪人，即便你找到一个自己很爱的人，愿意为他付出所有，但要知道，如果对方一直没有回应时，你靠着自己没法爱到底。所以需要学习基督的爱，当你得着基督无条件的爱，然后去爱对方的话，不管对方是否愿意回应，你都能忍耐爱到底。
“他既然爱世间属自己的人，就爱他们到底。” [约13: 1]
上帝就是爱! 耶稣对我们的爱是无条件并且忍耐到底的爱，唯有明白这份爱，得到这种爱，进入这种爱，活出这份爱，你才能拥有一段最美好幸福的婚姻。寇乃馨，出生于基督教家庭，是华人著名牧师寇世远的孙女，其父为台湾教会长老，叔父为华人著名牧师，原台湾电视主播寇绍恩。台大外文系毕业，台湾著名娱乐节目主持人，2012年因在贵州卫视《非常完美》节目担任情感导师而在大陆声名鹊起。丈夫黄国伦，台湾著名音乐人，以一首《我愿意》跻身华语流行乐坛，成为家喻户晓的音乐才子。
别对你爱的人飙狠话-施迦南
你有对所爱的人飙过狠话吗？是否想过自己逞一时的口舌之快，有可能成为一辈子的遗憾。在北京卫视《我是演说家》节目上，基督徒艺人寇乃馨深刻解剖自己曾经言语上的过错，提醒大家“别对你爱的人飙狠话”。
3月22日凌晨，寇乃馨在其微博发信息说，“我被网上热传的反响吓到了！当初决定讲这个主题《别对你爱的人飙狠话》，我祷告很久，几乎是发着抖流着泪写完的讲稿；有雅量容许我挑战他，感谢我的父母和老公@黄国伦老师 宽容我曾经任性的言语伤害，若我的自剖能提醒大家更珍惜所爱真太值了！” 过一会儿，黄国伦留说，“老婆@寇乃馨妳很棒，我以你为荣啊。”
在《遇见更好的自己》这个主题中，寇乃馨坦言自己刚经历一个阵痛难产的过程，“我今天站在这里，变得更勇敢了，”她也坦言，在遇见更好的自己这个“阵痛期”之前，首先你会遇见自己的不够好。然后才有可能经历成长之后，遇见更好的自己。
接着她便通过亲身经历自剖曾经如何用言语伤害最爱的两个男人。“说话是我的工作，也成为了我的武器，而且我用这个武器伤人无数，我这辈子最爱的两个男人一个是爸爸，另一个是丈夫，可是我这辈子说过的最狠毒的话都是用来对付这两个男人的。”
“我跟黄国伦最初交往受到父亲严重反对，在座姐妹们的父亲可能都希望自己的女儿嫁给高富帅，或者可以保障你未来的男人。我爸爸觉得黄国伦长得不帅，不年轻，而且还离过婚有一个孩子，对我爸爸来说，我的女儿怎么可以嫁给这样一个男人，为此我们吵过很多次。有一次他非常火爆，拿着电话说了最狠的话，‘寇乃馨，你要是真的跟这个男人交往，我就不认你这个女儿。’”
她坦承自己真的很爱爸爸，但当时这句话对她来说无法承受，她很伤心也很生气。当时她用极其冷静冷血的语调跟父亲说，“好啊，那你觉得从什么时候开始比较好，是你告诉家人，还是我来转告家人。”那天爸爸我气到差点要送去医院急救。她妈妈打电话告诉说，“寇乃馨，你真的要把你爸爸逼死吗？”当她回过神来觉得很后悔，自己怎么可能在疯狂的时候用这么狠的话对付最爱的父亲，我能够面对用一句话把父亲逼死的结果吗？
看起来她真的很爱黄国伦，竟然可以这样跟父亲翻脸，“但是通常伤他最深的也是我本人。”接下来的内容寇乃馨是流泪讲完：他们两人个性都很强，谁也不会让谁。有一次，她气到不行，决定一定要打败他，便决定挑他最痛的讲，就说，“黄国伦，你凭哪一点配得上我寇乃馨啊，你知不知道你离过婚，你是二手货，你配不上我。”
当时黄国伦没有回嘴，转身收拾行李，拉着行李箱走到家门口，回过头对她说了一句，“乃馨，有些话是不能出口的你知道吗？”然后他就走了。
这件事让寇乃馨非常后悔，她告诉观众，“有时候，越会说话的人，越容易用你的言语去伤人，越会说话的人，越会用你的话语形成一种暴力，我第一次发现，我自己有可能是一个家暴者。”
“我想在这个舞台上遇见更好的自己，首先我要做到的就是改正我在愤怒的时候的情绪跟语言暴力，让我们都遇见更好的自己，我们都可以在愤怒的时候，更多地控制我们的言语，我们要让我们的言语，造成疗伤的能力。而不是创造更深的伤痕，我们要用我们的言语，让我们爱的人得到鼓励，不是让他去死。”她鼓励大家学会处理自己的愤怒情绪。
《圣经》告诉我们，“这样，舌头在百体里也是最小的，却能说大话。看哪，最小的火能点著最大的树林；舌头就是火，在我们百体中，舌头是个罪恶的世界，能污秽全身，也能把生命的轮子点起来，并且是从地狱里点著的。”——雅3：5-6
在生活中，我们必须学会勒住自己的舌头，凡事都要说造就人的好话，而非毁灭人生命的话。
台大外文系毕业的主持人寇乃馨，出生于基督教家庭，是华人著名牧师寇世远的孙女，其父为台湾教会长老，叔父为华人著名牧师，原台湾电视主播寇绍恩。寇乃馨打从念北一女开始，就是成绩拔尖的好学生，当年她以第一名考进外文系，脑子里想的却是要当明星，一些她的大学同学看到她在电视上模仿章小蕙的模样，都不敢相信这是她们班上的女状元。
毕业于台大的寇乃馨，不但声音甜美、口齿伶俐，更拥有姣好的外貌与身材，她常担任各项综艺节目主持人，忙碌的除在电台主持节目外，并身兼英文教学工作，且九月份更将演出舞台剧。寇乃馨曾与赵自强一起主持过“谁是大厨师”节目达两年之久，因此对美食也有相当的认识。…
寇乃馨是台湾大学校花，追求者甚多，曾和《LKK不要看》制作人常立欣拍拖长达5年，并踏入订婚阶段，但后来分手。自2003年与台湾知名音乐人黄国伦传出绯闻；2008年中，两人关系转为半公开；2009年3月30日，与黄连袂上节目接受专访，提及两人有结婚意愿，2010年3月19日被爆料已于2009年11月在耶路撒冷结婚，并与2010年3月22日召开记者会承认。

He drew wisdom and strength from God Jesus Christ to give America a new lease of life and to enable blacks to return to their homes, a great benevolent man who preached the love of Jesus Christ like a lamp that never goes out to illuminate the hearts of all good human beings.
I. The Life of Lincoln
At dawn on February 12, 1809, in a log cabin 3 miles south of Hall in Harding County, Kentucky, a little boy was born. He was none other than one of the greatest figures in history, the 16th president of the United States, Abraham Lincoln.
In Lincoln’s own words, his childhood was “a concise chronicle of poverty.” As a child, his family was poor. When he was 9 years old, his mother died. For a variety of reasons, Lincoln’s combined education as a child was less than a year. He also worked as a farmman, a stonemason, a boatman, etc.
In 1830, the Lincolns moved to Illinois, where he made his first political speech at a political rally and began his political career. In 1860, Lincoln was elected the 16th president of the United States as the Republican candidate. Shortly after taking office, Southern slave owners provoked the Civil War. In September 1862, Lincoln issued the famous Emancipation Proclamation, announcing the abolition of slavery. In June 1864, the Civil War ended with a Northern victory. II. Lincoln’s Faith

It was a sharp-tongued, vicious attack on the Bible. Instead, through these people and books, God made Lincoln read more of the Bible and found the power to shape and change him. During the tragic years of the Civil War, Lincoln became more aware of God’s omnipotence and eventually became a devout Christian. Everything Lincoln did after that was deeply impregnated with the words of the Bible.
According to his dear friend, Pastor Leed, “He was in the White House, praying every day, never stopping. According to Mr. Brooke of the New York Tribune, with whom he was a close friend, “Lincoln read the Bible and prayed, and he kept watching. ”
III. Lincoln’s famous remarks
During the Civil War, his subordinates learned that Lincoln believed in God and suggested that he pray that God would be on their side. 南北战争期间，林肯的下属建议林肯向上帝祷告，求上帝站在他们这一边。林肯回答说：“不，不是要求上帝站在我们这一边，而是我们要站在上帝的一边。”一句话，道出了对基督信仰的真谛。因为上帝就是真理，站在上帝一边就是站在了真理的一边，就会胜过邪恶的势力。

二十二岁那年，林肯离开家乡，到南方的新奥尔良做生意。他看到了拍卖黑奴的场景，一对黑人母女挣扎着要拥抱在一起，黑奴贩子却用鞭子狠狠抽打她们，一边一个人硬将她们拉开，那母亲不断伸手乱抓，女孩更是哭得像要断了气，全身抽搐扭成一团….。林肯激动得浑身颤抖，双手握拳，他再也看不下去，拔腿便冲出了拍卖市场。 「在公平的苍天底下，怎么容许有这样的事情存在?」那幕情景，深深烙印在林肯的心上，他对自己发誓：「我要为废除奴隶制度贡献所有的力量！」然后，他开始思索如何解救黑奴的问题，他想：「除非做政治家，否则不管我如何卖力，也救不了一名黑奴！」

林肯执行律师业务达十五年之久，这段期间，他不断为无辜的同胞伸张正义，并且到处宣讲「让黑奴重获得自由」的思想。
为了维护美国的统一，为了废除奴隶制度，林肯决定竞选美国总统。在竞选演说中，他用诚恳、坚定的语调说：「大家都知道，一个一半人民是奴隶，一半人民是主人的国家，绝对不可能永久存在！我们每一个有正义感的国民，都应该拿出信心、力量去做我们认为应该做的事情。」
这段直率简洁的讲词，深深打动了人民的心灵，林肯终于击败所有对手当选为美国第十六任总统。不久，南方主张蓄奴的七个州，愤怒地退出联邦，并趁机猛烈炮轰北方碉堡。历史上著名的「南北战争」这样爆发了。
林肯立刻召集七万多名志愿意兵，迎击南方大军。起初北军屡战屡败，林肯为了鼓舞士气，经常到军营、医院、俘虏营和部属谈话，北军果然渐渐转败为胜。第二年，战争仍剧烈的进行时，林肯签署了解放奴隶的法案，公开声明废除奴隶制度，美国境内四百万黑奴，从此获得了宝贵的自由。
这年年底，林肯又在盖兹堡发表了一篇著名的演讲，结语时说： 「我们国家在上帝庇佑下，将获得新生的自由，而民有、民治、民享的政府，将永存于世界。」
从此以后，「民有、民治、民享的政府」，就成为美国建国的最高指标。
1865年复活节前的星期五(四月十四日)晚上，林肯被刺杀，凶手是一个名叫布斯的演员，他是南方人，因为不满林肯解放黑奴，才做出这样的事。
林肯的死犹如青天霹雳，震撼了全世界，尽管事实已活生生的摆在眼前，人们仍旧茫然的问：「这样好的一个人，就这样死了吗？」
今天，美国首都华盛顿市内，有一座林肯纪念堂，纪念堂里有一尊优美的林肯塑像。
当人们瞻仰他、向他致敬的时候，总会从那温煦的笑容中，察觉出诚实、坚毅、智慧的灵光，这灵光，是来自于林肯对基督的虔诚信仰。他从上帝耶稣基督获得智慧和力量，使美国获得新生，使黑人能重返家园，这位伟大的仁者，将耶稣基督的慈爱传扬，就像一盏永不熄灭的灯，照亮了所有善良人类的心灵。
一.林肯的生平

据其挚友李德牧师说：“他在白宫，天天祈祷，从不间断。”又据和其有深交的纽约论坛报的布鲁克先生说：“林肯读经祈祷，谨守不辍。”
三.林肯的著名言论
南北战争期间，下属知道林肯信仰上帝，便建议他祷告，求上帝站在他们这一边。林肯回答说：“不，不是要求上帝站在我们这一边，而是我们要站在上帝的一边。”一句话，说出了他对基督的信靠。因为上帝就是真理，站在上帝一边就是站在了真理的一边，就会胜过邪恶的势力。
林肯总统曾痛论时弊：“我们从天父得到最大的恩惠，立国以来，和平康乐，无论在人口上、财富上、国势上，日进月盛，远超他国。但是我们却忘恩负义，忘记了上帝！忘记他的恩手保佑着我们。”又说：“我们沉迷于自己的成就，沾沾自喜，自满自足，从而以为无须上帝的救恩与护佑；利禄熏心，狂傲自负，不向造我们的上帝感恩祈祷。”林肯总统之言，正可令我们深切反省！
林肯总统制定的“治国方略”如下：
1. 欲谋繁荣，不可废弃俭德。2. 扶助小民，不可打倒伟人。3. 激励弱者，不可削弱壮士。4. 优惠工人，不可奚落雇主。5. 救济贫民。6. 去除烦恼，不可藉着挥霍。7. 增进同胞之爱，不可煽动阶级仇恨.
林肯使基督教成为美国的立国之本，让国人看到了上帝的伟大与全能。他独特的精神力量与坚毅人格，也使他成为世界人民心目中的传奇人物。愿我们也像林肯一样，选择站在上帝的一边。

Quitting 20 years of smoking

Jeremy Lin, the NBA’s first Chinese American, has skyrocketed in popularity since signing with the Golden State Warriors last July, winning the love of Chinese Americans and Taiwanese NBA fans. The ups and downs of an NBA career
Amid a round of applause and cheers, Jeremy, the tall man standing on the stage, had no pride and shared his faith and career in the NBA for nearly a year as a Christian brother.
Jeremy said when he signed with the Golden State Warriors last year, he felt as if his life had changed overnight. He felt as if he was standing above the whole world, and for a while, the media rushed to interview him. At first, he found it cool, fun, and confident to face the challenges of the NBA. However, after the start of the NBA training camp, he quickly collapsed. In training camp, Jeremy didn’t play very well, not even as good as many non-NBA players. Although the coach kept encouraging him, he had lost confidence in himself. He specifically mentioned that he had only scored 10 points in a group match at the end of December last year.
He was full of pressure on himself, fearing that he would be kicked out for poor performance on the day of the elimination deadline on January 21. He was even more worried about not knowing how to deal with his family and friends who had always supported him. That night, he stayed up all night and wrote this sentence in his diary: “This is probably the last time in my life when I was depressed, I lost confidence on the court, basketball was no longer fun for me, and I didn’t want to participate in any group tournaments anymore.” On the day of the elimination deadline on Jan. 21, Jeremy wrote, “I wish I had never signed with the Golden State Warriors.”
Jeremy laughs and says that looking back now he thinks he was crazy, but that’s exactly how he was at the time. The pressure he put on himself has become too much for him to bear, and he has lost the joy, enthusiasm, and purpose of playing basketball. The high treatment, prestige, and ambitions that NBA stars have no longer make sense to him.
Trust in God and regain your strength
At the very moment when Jeremy was on the verge of collapse, God’s Word awakened his spirit, made him see the gap in his life, and turned his eyes to God again.
“It dawned on me that basketball had become my idol,” Jeremy said. Basketball became so important to me that it even became the first in my life. That’s why basketball consumes his joy. When his joy is based on how well he plays basketball, his emotions fluctuate dramatically. Jeremy uttered an inner cry: “I began to realize that I needed to trust God. ”
Growing up in a Christian family, Jeremy went to church from an early age, but he confessed that he was the worst child he could be, and even tried to make his Sunday school teacher cry. It wasn’t until he joined the Church’s youth fellowship in the ninth grade that his faith began to mature and he was baptized. Even so, at that time, he only knew in his head that he had to “trust God”, but it was still very difficult to put it into practice in his life. During the low point of his NBA training, Jeremy reflected on the footprints God had left in his life and realized how unreasonable it was not to “trust God.”
Jeremy began documenting the series of miraculous leads of God in his life that led him to the path to becoming a professional player in the NBA. First of all, his parents and two brothers are very ordinary, and he is the only one in the family who has a height of 1.91 meters, it is because of this unique figure that he can be selected for the NBA. Although his two brothers enjoyed basketball as much as he did, the school coach appreciated his performance and nurtured him as a mentor and friend. In addition, when choosing a university, although Jeremy initially missed the opportunity to enroll in Stanford University, which he had been dreaming of for a long time, he was fortunate to receive an invitation to Harvard University under God’s guidance. Jeremy describes, “None of them are directly controlled by my power, and all these things and people in my life are blessings from God. With this in mind, every time he was about to lose hope and faith in God, he reminded himself of the work God had done for him.
Pursue the rewards of heaven
During the NBA group game, a pastor encouraged Jeremy to spend an hour a day to draw close to God. As he tried to do obediently as the pastor had taught, his life was greatly renewed by God’s Word.
“Do you not know that those who race on the field run, but only one person gets the prize, so that you may also run in the same way, that you may receive the reward? All who strive to win have moderation in all things, but they want a perishable crown, but we want a crown that cannot be broken” (1 Corinthians 9:24–25)
Jeremy says that this passage in 1 Corinthians had a profound impact on him and made him change his outlook on life. “I used to play basketball for the ‘Bad Crown,’ and I’ve always played for good games, good scores, glory for the Golden State Warriors, contract extensions, and other people’s expectations, and I’ve played for myself. ”
“Hold fast to the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:14)
This passage in Philippians is also a wake-up call for Jeremy. In Christ Jesus there is a “prize from above,” which is to enjoy eternal presence with Jesus Christ. “I have learned that the true reward we are seeking is in heaven. Jeremy testifies, “The reward that the apostle Paul refers to in 1 Corinthians is the eternal reward for which he lived so that his life became meaningful.” I’ve learned that I should stop chasing bad crowns and personal glory. I want to learn to put my best foot forward to God and commit the results to God. I want to learn to trust in His grace, in His great and perfect plan. I’m going to learn to give God all my thoughts, my desires, my dreams, and pray, ‘God, I’m going to do my best to play for you, and I’ll give you the results.'” Jeremy prayed from the bottom of his heart, and his spirit was set free, and his performance on the pitch improved greatly, scoring an unprecedented number of points in a short period, and successfully passing the test of the group stage.
Jeremy said that the past year in the NBA has indeed been a fun, fun, and dream life for him, and he knows that it is also a dream for many people. He encouraged unbelievers not to give up the opportunity to know God and leave, but to know God well and not to become Christians right away. He hopes that every seeker will find that God’s salvation, God’s plan, eternal peace, and joy await them.
At the same time, Jeremy exhorted his brothers and sisters in Christ to check if they had put God first in their lives. Just like he used to be, even if he knew God but didn’t put Him first in his life, he would easily fall. Jeremy also advises every Christian to stay close to God every day, take the initiative to spread the gospel to those around them, give generously to those in need, and have the courage to show love to those who love.

NBA生涯的起伏
在一片热烈的掌声和欢呼声中，站在台上大高个儿Jeremy没有丝毫的骄傲，以主内弟兄的身份坦诚地分享了自己的信仰历程和在近一年在NBA的职业生涯。

追求天国的奖赏
打NBA分组赛的期间，有一位牧师鼓励Jeremy每天花一个小时来亲近神。当他试着按照牧师的教导顺服去做的时候，他的生命也大大地被神的话语更新。
“岂不知在场上赛跑的都跑、但得奖赏的只有一人，你们也当这样跑、好叫你们得着奖赏。凡较力争胜的、诸事都有节制，他们不过是要得能坏的冠冕，我们却是要得不能坏的冠冕”（哥林多前书9：24-25）
Jeremy表示哥林多前书的这经文对自己产生了很深的影响，令他扭转了对人生的看法。“以前我是为‘能坏的冠冕’而打篮球，我一直为了好的比赛、好的得分、为金州战士队争光、为能续签球队合约、为了他人的期望打球，我为了我自己打球。”
“向着标竿直跑、要得神在基督耶稣里从上面召我来得的奖赏”（腓立比书3：14）

对未信主与基督徒的呼吁
Jeremy分别对未信主的和已信主的朋友提出问题，挑战他们反思人生的意义。他对未信主的朋友说：“我邀请你来查看自己，你在为什么而活。你追求的是会朽坏的东西、或是天国的冠冕？每天起床的时候，你第一个想到的是什么？是学业吗？是金钱吗？是工作吗？是电子游戏吗？是色情信息吗？是女朋友吗？”
他鼓励未信主朋友不要放弃认识神的机会就离开了，首要的是好好地去认识神，并不需要立刻就成为基督徒。他希望每一位慕道友都能发现，是有神的拯救、神的计划、永恒的平安和喜乐在等待他们的。
同时，Jeremy也劝勉主内的弟兄姐妹要查看自己是否已经把神放在生命的首位。就像他过去一样，即使认识神却没有把神放在生命的首位，就会很容易跌倒。Jeremy也建议每位基督徒要每天持守去亲近神，主动向身边的人传福音，慷慨周济有需要的人，勇于向所爱的人表达爱。

Since she was a child in a Christian school, Vivian has always participated in school fellowship, but she does not know much about the faith and does not take it too seriously, because of the difficulties she will encounter in life, she gradually develops the habit of prayer, although she is not sure whether God is listening, but she has no one to talk to, so she has to express her heart in prayer.
First time going to church: Heavenly Father, I’m home
Vivian, who has always been accustomed to relying on herself, went out to work in her teens after graduation and felt that she could not be bullied and must be self-reliant, so she was in a state of “fighting” for a long time. In a testimony she wrote on Christmas Day 2013, she said that relying on others or religion is an act of weakness.
Until one day in 2009, a casual conversation with a friend turned her life around. “That day, I had a casual conversation with a friend who had no religious beliefs, and he said that many religions focus on personal cultivation, but those self-imposed standards are indicators that are difficult for mortals to achieve. Christianity emphasizes ‘salvation by faith,’ but I have a hard time accepting this argument because this kind of free salvation is completely contrary to my usual beliefs.
But when I think deeper, if what the Bible says is true, then no matter how good my cultivation is, because I have not accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior, I am still a sinner; even if what the Bible says is not true, I have no loss after reading the Bible, and my cultivation will only improve, not regress. I shouldn’t judge what I don’t understand, but I am only qualified to judge when I read the whole Bible and go back to church to hear the pastors preach. ”
It was this mindset of learning a little more that suddenly swelled up in Vivian’s heart, wanting to understand this belief that she had previously held biases. At the same time, she also told her husband Ni Zhen about this idea and received support.
Vivian’s first visit to church was at the Easter service in 2009, when she was so excited that she struggled to suppress her tears. She turned to God in her heart and said, “Father, I’m home!
Witness to faith through music
When she got to know God again, Vivian knew that her singing gift came from God, so she was willing to sing for God, hoping to interpret God’s faith through her music. When she conceived the gospel album, the words of the Bible became her inspiration, and she knew that the gospel disc was made for “God”, so the album was titled “HIM”, which means God. In this album, each song conveys a different theme: judgment, gender relations, life and death, and the heart of a child.
This was the first time Vivian had written a song for God, and she wanted to write about the title “Ribs” from the very beginning. “God created Adam first, saying that it was not good for the man to live alone, and decided to create a spouse to help him, and I realized that this woman was created to fulfill Adam, and in other passages of the Bible, the husband is described as the head of the wife, so I understand that a wife needs to be wise to submit to her husband’s leadership. And how did God make the woman? He put Adam to sleep and took out a rib to create a woman, and Adam woke up and said, “This woman is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh, so husbands should love their wives as they love their bodies.” As I studied this passage in detail, I gained a deeper understanding of the roles of men and women and how partners treat each other. ”
In addition, she composed a song “A Love Like This”, which counted the grace in her life. On January 8, 2015, she wrote on Weibo, “After writing the song “A Love Like This” last year, my intuition is very compatible with the English lyrics, writing about grace and faith to change my life, and the music part is conceived to tie Him, fresh and simple arrangement so that the vocal’s feelings can be highlighted. ”
Vivian put a lot of effort into making this gospel disc. She mentioned the creative team in a video posted on Weibo on January 9, admitting that although the creative team is not all Christians, the requirement for choosing a lyricist is that she must be familiar with the Bible, because ordinary unbelievers may feel that Christianity, like other religions, leads people to goodness. But in fact, many Christian values are not universal values, so as the creative supervisor of the whole album, she must make sure that the lyrics are correct and do not misinterpret the Christian faith. To this end, Vivian spent a lot of time writing the concepts behind each track, and communicating with the lyricists.
It took a whole year from the preparation to the production of the gospel album, and Vivian admits that she has experienced a lot of waiting and a lot of struggle. On January 9, 2015, “Zhou Huimin Idea Studio” Weibo posted a video of Genesis TV’s interview with Love Earth Observatory “Zhou Huimin Sings for HIM”, in which Vivian talked about her process of recording the album. “I want each song to be produced by a different person, to be able to record in different studios, so that I can learn to let go of the old way of recording over the years and open myself up to work with the team instead of being the controller. I have experienced a lot of struggles in the process, because I am a very demanding person, and I have to let go of myself and accept other people’s opinions humbly in teamwork, so when there is a break in the studio, I will calm down and pray, and give everything to God, because I don’t want to be a disc that makes a singer, this is a disc that makes someone else. ‘HIM’, or God, is the protagonist of this disc. ”
She also talked about how to face criticism after public belief because she is an artist, “Since I have faith, I have found that I don’t worry too much about people’s criticism of me, and I won’t pursue it according to world values or universal values, because I won’t measure it according to this ruler.” I don’t use my own standards to ask others, which is a big change for me. ”
At the same time, she also mentioned that one of the songs in the gospel album, “Stone Rain”, is precisely about the judgment of the world, inspired by a well-known biblical story: the story of a woman who committed adultery and was stoned by people. “A lot of people say I’m an artist, will I be hypocritical? Some people will say that an artist is a hypocritical person. Sometimes I think about this story, I think people who believe in the Lord understand very well that everyone is full of a lot of sin, and if we are all full of a lot of sin, what right do we have to comment on others? So in the title of each song, you can bring out a lot of thinking. Vivian added.
In the final video, it says, “May Vivian be able to use her gifts to do more beautiful testimonies.” I believe that this is also the expectation and blessing that God and every Christian expect from her.
